Technology WeekGIMPA is well known for producing excellent managers and administrators. But hidden in there is a gem for producing ICT graduates. The GIMPA School of Technology (SOT) in collaboration with GASSCOM (Ghana Association of Software Companies and IT enabled services) is organizing a Technology Week Celebration from 8th to 12 February 2010. SOT comprises three main units namely the Distance Learning Centre (DLC), the Centre for IT Professional Development (CIPD) and the IT Support

The GIMPA School of Technology (SOT) is the Centre of Excellence for the provision of ICT education and training in Ghana. Established in 2003, SOT runs Bachelor of Science Degrees in Information and Communication Technology and Computer Science.

The celebration is on the theme: "Industry –Academia Partnership: A fillip to National ICT Development.”

The week seeks to create a platform for both academia and industrial players to dialogue. The celebration would also explore the interaction between ICT equipped institutions and non-ICT equipped institutions.

The school runs internationally recognized range of high quality undergraduate programmes in Information and Communication Technology and Computer Science.

The school has a dynamic team of academic staff who focus jointly on innovative teaching and learning techniques as well as research.

"Students graduating from these programmes will be adequately equipped for the employment market armed with first class knowledge and skills to be very competitive".

The School is planning to run Masters degree programmes in Information Systems and Information Technology Project Management in future.
