Brief History OF GIMPA Graduate School of Business (GSB)

The GIMPA Business School evolved out of the former GIMPA Graduate School(GGS) established in May 2003, to run Executive Masters programmes in Business Administration(EMBA),Public Administration (EMPA) and Governance and Leadership(EMGL).

The Graduate School of Business is the graduate wing of the Business School headed by a Dean. Prof. Paul Buatsi formerly of KNUST Business School is the Dean of the Graduate School of Business.The GIMPA Graduate School of Business (MBA & MSc.) programme is geared towards graduates with little to moderate professional working experience after their bachelors’ degrees or professional certificates.  The Executive Masters Programme in Business Administration (EMBA) provides higher training for Middle and Senior Managers in the private and public sectors and NGOs.

The Graduate School of Business is to enhance its capacity to provide improvement in teaching. The School also runs evening MBA at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (Kanda).

OBJECTIVES

The Graduate School of Business objectives is embedded in the Business School statement values.

To build an academic community that recognizes and rewards excellence in teaching, research and service to society.

To create a congenial learning environment that brings together students, faculty and staff and collaborate to create an organizational climate/system that fosters teamwork and creativity.

To be dedicated in cultivating an environment which encourages faculty, staff and students to make meaningful contribution to society and be fully accountable for their actions.

To continuously forge alliances with higher Educational Institutions, Government Agencies and Business Communities in Ghana and elsewhere. 

LOCATION

The Graduate School of Business is located on the 3rd floor of the Syndicate Block on the main GIMPA Campus.

TARGET FOR THIS ACADEMIC YEAR

To open a Kumasi Campus and which will run EMBA and MBA. 

SPECIAL EVENTS

The evening MBA relocated to Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (Kanda) on the 8th September, 2008. LMMSSSA, UCLA/MDI HIV AIDS conference was held at the plush Executive Hostel recently. There is going to be a 7th Congregation for the 5th and 6th EMBA Batch on 15th November, 2008.
