Professor Lord Mawuko-Yevugah of the GIMPA School of Public Service and Governance has been recognized as one of the leading global experts in the emerging field of “Just Sustainability”.
This recognition comes in the form of an invitation extended to Prof Mawuko-Yevugah to visit Wageningen University in The Netherlands, in the period of 21-25 October 2024 to participate in the Inception Workshop of the seed money project on “Towards Just Sustainability Transformation across the North and the South: Addressing Externalisation Effects of the European Union Green Deal in the Global South”
An invitation letter signed by Professor Otto Hospes, the Project Lead and Convener of the Inception Workshop, states in part that Professor Lord Mawuko-Yevugah’s invitation is valuable and appreciated “given his thematic, disciplinary and country-based knowledge”.
Professor Mawuko-Yevugah will be hosted by the Public Administration and Policy Group at Wageningen University where the Global Sustainability program which was awarded the seed money is located. The Inception Workshop brings together international research partners from The Netherlands, Brazil, Ghana and Indonesia.
Prof Lord Mawuko-Yevugah who is the coordinator of GIMPA’s flagship master’s program in International Relations and Diplomacy and a former Head of the Department of Public Management and International Relations is widely recognized as a leading expert in the field of international relations, focusing on critical international political economy and Africa’s international relations.
He is an alumnus of the prestigious University of Cambridge, UK where he studied for a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Development Studies as a Commonwealth Scholar. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in Political Science & Linguistics from the University of Ghana and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in International Relations from the University of Alberta in Canada.
