The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) has successfully concluded a two-day Leadership and Health Resilience Seminar, bringing together staff and management, as well as invited stakeholders from the health sector, alumni, and students, for an engaging and thought-provoking learning experience focused on resilience, well-being, and effective leadership in today’s dynamic work environment.
The seminar, held over two days, featured Professor Jill Klein of the Melbourne Business School and Melbourne Medical School, University of Melbourne, as the lead facilitator. Participants were guided through practical and reflective sessions that explored resilience in leadership, stress management, learning from mistakes, and adopting a growth mindset to enhance both personal well-being and institutional performance.
Day One, themed Leading with Resilience, set the tone with rich discussions on leadership under pressure, adaptability, and sustaining performance in challenging environments. Day Two, titled Errors, Stress & Growth: Resilience and the Growth Mindset, deepened the conversation by examining how leaders and professionals can transform setbacks into learning opportunities while maintaining mental and emotional well-being.
Participants actively engaged in discussions, shared experiences, and reflected on practical strategies applicable to their respective units. The seminar was widely commended for its relevance, depth, and practical insights, and was described by participants as timely, inspiring, and impactful.
Speaking on the outcome of the programme, GIMPA reaffirmed its commitment to continuous professional development, staff well-being, and leadership excellence as key drivers of institutional growth and impact in 2026 and beyond.
