A renewed call to principled leadership and service echoed through the GB Auditorium, Greenhill Campus, as Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, Member of Parliament for Ho West and Board Chairman of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), charged the graduating Class of 2026 of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) to lead with integrity, embrace innovation and digital transformation, and dedicate themselves to selfless service.
Addressing graduands at the Institute’s 26th Congregation, Hon. Bedzrah urged the new graduates to measure their careers not by titles or offices attained, but by the impact of their work on the people and communities they serve.
“As leaders, our true legacy is not defined by the positions we hold, but by the opportunities we create and the lives we impact,” he said.
He encouraged the Class of 2026 to remain adaptable in a rapidly changing global economy, noting that innovation and digital competence have become essential tools for effective leadership in both the public and private sectors. Graduates, he stressed, must combine technical capability with the ethical grounding that public trust demands.
Hon. Bedzrah reaffirmed GETFund’s commitment to partnering with GIMPA to strengthen educational infrastructure, advance research and innovation, and accelerate the Institute’s digital transformation agenda. He described GIMPA as a strategic national asset in the training of leaders for Ghana and the sub-region, and pledged the Fund’s continued support for initiatives that expand access to quality tertiary education.
In recognition of academic excellence, the Board Chairman further announced a personal commitment to sponsor the Best Graduating Student of the School of Public Service and Governance with an award of GHS 5,000 annually over the next five years. The gesture, he noted, is intended to celebrate excellence and to inspire successive cohorts of students to pursue the highest standards of scholarship and professional conduct.
The 26th Congregation, held on Friday, 24 and Saturday, 25 July 2026, saw the award of certificates, diplomas and degrees to graduands of the School of Public Service and Governance, the School of Technology and Social Sciences, the GIMPA Business School and the GIMPA Law School. The ceremony forms part of activities marking the Institute’s 65th anniversary, commemorating over six decades of leadership and management training.
