The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) has held its orientation programme for the September 2026 Intake of the 2026/2027 Academic Year. The programme was organised for both undergraduate and graduate students admitted across GIMPA’s four schools: The Business School, the Faculty of Law, the School of Public Service and Governance (SPSG), and the School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (SOTSS).
The sessions were designed to introduce new students to the Institute’s academic structure, student support services, and key administrative departments ahead of the start of the academic year. The Deputy Rector of GIMPA, Prof. Ebenezer Adaku, who delivered the welcome address on behalf of the Rector, officially received the new students to the Institute. Prof. Adaku congratulated the students on their admission and encouraged them to take full advantage of the academic and professional opportunities available at GIMPA.
He further urged them to uphold discipline and commitment to excellence, noting that these qualities have long distinguished GIMPA graduates in the workplace. He concluded by assuring the students of GIMPA’s commitment to supporting them throughout their
academic journey and wished them a successful start to the year.
On her part, the Director of Academic Affairs, Mrs Akua Barnieh Armar, took students through key academic policies and procedures relevant to their studies. She outlined registration processes, grading systems, and academic regulations that students would
need to familiarise themselves with as they settled into their programmes. She also touched on the importance of time management and academic integrity, encouraging students to seek guidance from their respective schools whenever they had concerns about their coursework.
The Dean of Students Affairs, Prof. Augustina Akonnor, also welcomed the students and outlined the range of support services available to them during their time at GIMPA, while the Institute Librarian, Mr. Kodjo Asafo-Adjei Antwi, gave a presentation on the library’s resources and services available to students.
In addition, presentations were made on behalf of several directorates, including Finance, Information Technology (IT), Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, Security, and the GIMPA Clinic, among others, informing students of the services provided by each office.
The President of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) and members of her team were also present to welcome the new students.
