ACCRA, GHANA – The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, in partnership with the Electricity Company of Ghana, has officially welcomed the second cohort of participants for its Master of Public Administration (MPA) programme at a formal dinner held at the GIMPA Executive Conference Centre (GECC).
The event brought together senior officials from both institutions to mark the commencement of the participants’ academic journey and reaffirm their shared commitment to capacity building within Ghana’s public and energy sectors.
Delivering the welcome address, Deputy Rector of GIMPA, Prof. Ebenezer Adaku, encouraged participants to embrace the programme with openness and curiosity. He emphasized the importance of reflective learning and urged them to take advantage of the diverse perspectives and practical experiences the programme offers.
A statement on behalf of the Managing Director of ECG, delivered by Charles Obeng, highlighted the initiative as part of ECG’s long-term strategy to strengthen institutional capacity. According to the statement, the company aims to train approximately 800 management staff over the coming years to promote ethical leadership and improve organizational performance.
Participants engaged in an interactive session, introducing themselves and sharing their professional experiences. Class representatives also outlined expectations for the programme, with a strong focus on collaboration, leadership development, and practical application of knowledge.
The evening was enlivened by musical performances from the GIMPA Choir, creating a vibrant and memorable atmosphere.
The GIMPA–ECG MPA programme underscores the growing collaboration between academia and industry, aimed at equipping professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to address contemporary governance and energy sector challenges.
