Gimpa Hosts Tech Fair And Industry Showcase 2026 On Innovation For Ghana’s Future.

The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), through its School of Technology and Social Sciences (SOTSS), has successfully hosted the GIMPA Tech Fair and Industry Showcase 2026, bringing together industry leaders, technology experts, students, innovators, and key stakeholders to explore technology-driven solutions for national development.

Held under the theme “Innovating for Impact: Technology Solutions for Ghana’s Future,” the event provided a platform for dialogue on how emerging technologies can be harnessed to address real-world challenges and advance Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.

The programme was moderated by Prof. Emmanuel Sarkodie Adabor, who facilitated engaging discussions on innovation, emerging technologies, and the critical role of young people in shaping Ghana’s digital economy.

A key highlight of the event was a keynote address by Dr. Stephane Nwolley Jnr., Chief Executive Officer of Npontu Technologies. He shared insights into the evolving global technology landscape and the opportunities it presents for young innovators and entrepreneurs.

Dr. Nwolley outlined the company’s areas of operation, including data management and artificial intelligence, platform and application development, value-added services, IT consultancy, and business process outsourcing. He further noted that Npontu Technologies has delivered solutions for international organisations, public sector digitalisation initiatives, and private sector clients, underscoring the transformative role of technology across industries.

Speaking on the concept of innovation, Dr. Linda Sarpong of the African Technology Forum emphasized that innovation extends beyond technological creation. According to her, innovation is fundamentally about solving real-world problems that improve people’s lives, a message that strongly resonated with participants.

An interactive roundtable discussion also formed part of the programme, where experts and participants examined pressing societal challenges and the role of technology in addressing them. A key takeaway was the importance of user-cantered innovation, with stakeholders stressing that successful solutions must be designed around the needs of end users to create meaningful impact.

The discussions further highlighted the growing relevance of artificial intelligence and digital payment systems in shaping the future of work and business. Participants noted that AI should be viewed not as a replacement for human labour, but as a tool for enhancing productivity and efficiency.

Students and emerging innovators were encouraged to explore opportunities within the expanding freelance economy, which continues to open new pathways for employment, entrepreneurship, and global collaboration.

Across all discussions, stakeholders emphasized the need for innovation to focus on critical sectors such as healthcare, education, food security, and housing, where technology can deliver the most significant societal impact.

The GIMPA Tech Fair and Industry Showcase 2026 reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to fostering innovation, nurturing talent, and creating platforms that connect academia with industry to drive sustainable development.

As Ghana advances its digital transformation agenda, GIMPA continues to position itself as a hub for innovation, research, and capacity building aimed at empowering the next generation of technology leaders.
