The GIMPA Business School has reaffirmed its commitment to entrepreneurship development by providing financial support to student entrepreneurs who participated in its Business Plan Competition.
The award presentation ceremony brought together students, faculty members, and key stakeholders to celebrate participants whose business proposals demonstrated exceptional creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial potential.
A major highlight of the event was the presentation of cash awards to contestants in recognition of their dedication and commitment to transforming innovative ideas into viable business ventures. The overall winner received a total of GH¢17,000, comprising the competition’s grand prize of GH¢10,000, a GH¢5,000 contribution from the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs and Member of Parliament for Banda Constituency, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, and an additional GH¢2,000 from the GIMPA Business School.
In a further demonstration of support for youth entrepreneurship, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim provided GH¢5,000 each to all ten contestants through the GIMPA Business School to encourage them to continue developing their business ideas beyond the competition. The School also offered additional financial support to participants as part of its ongoing efforts to nurture innovation, enterprise development, and entrepreneurial excellence among students.
Addressing the beneficiaries, the Dean of the GIMPA Business School, Prof. Bernard Acquah Obeng, congratulated the contestants on their outstanding performances and encouraged them to remain focused and committed to their entrepreneurial aspirations. He emphasized that while innovative ideas are essential, success in business is built on discipline, consistency, resilience, and effective time management.
Prof. Obeng urged the students to be intentional in the pursuit of their goals, stressing that time remains one of the most valuable resources available to every entrepreneur. According to him, successful business leaders are distinguished not only by innovative thinking but also by their ability to manage time effectively, make sound decisions, and maintain focus on long-term objectives.
The beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim and the GIMPA Business School for the support, and pledged to utilize the funds.
The Business Plan Competition forms part of the GIMPA Business School’s broader commitment to promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and enterprise development among students.
