GTC, KOICA Advance Preparations For 2026 Youth Leadership Programme.

The GIMPA Training and Consulting (GTC) has commenced preparations for the implementation of the 2026 Youth Leadership Programme following its selection by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) as the programme’s implementing institution.

As part of the preparatory process, a delegation made up of members of the Programme Coordinating Team from Korea and representatives of the KOICA Country Office paid a working visit to GIMPA on Thursday, June 18, 2026, to assess the Institute’s readiness to host the initiative.

The Youth Leadership Programme, scheduled to run from August 2 to August 29, 2026, is expected to bring together 200 young leaders from Ghana, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, and Cameroon for an intensive month-long leadership and capacity-building experience.

Welcoming the delegation, GIMPA’s Deputy Rector, Prof. Ebenezer Adaku, highlighted the significance of strategic partnerships in promoting sustainable development and institutional growth.

The visit included an inspection of facilities designated for the programme. The delegation toured Manphey Hall, which is expected to host approximately 100 participants, as well as five breakout rooms with a seating capacity of 20 participants each. These spaces will support group discussions, collaborative learning activities, and interactive leadership sessions throughout the programme.

Discussions during the visit also focused on key operational areas, including logistics, participant engagement, programme delivery, and coordination mechanisms required for the successful execution of the initiative.

The selection of GIMPA as the implementing institution reflects the Institute’s growing reputation in leadership development, executive education, and capacity-building programmes.

The programme is expected to promote cross-cultural learning, strengthen professional networks, and facilitate the exchange of ideas among emerging leaders.
