Dr Daniel Komla Gameti

Management Science

Daniel K. Gameti is a senior lecturer of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Total Quality Management, and Service Operations Management at the Department of Management Science at the GIMPA Business School. He is also the Industry and International Collaborations Coordinator for the GIMPA Business School. He holds BSc and MPhil degrees in Business Administration from the University of Cape Coast and the University of Ghana respectively, and a PhD in Management from the University of Canterbury.

Daniel has over 20 years of teaching experience at secondary and tertiary institutions. He has been involved in managing a number of SMEs, coaching and training SME owner-managers in Ghana. Between 2014 and 2019, he was the faculty advisor for ENACTUS GIMPA, an international not-for-profit organisation that is dedicated to inspiring students to take entrepreneurial action to improve the lives of others. As an entrepreneurship and innovation scholar, Daniel has supported many students including students at the UC Centre for Entrepreneurship during their 2020 and 2022 Summer Start-up Programmes by coaching and providing training resources to help them develop their innovative ideas into businesses. In 2022 and 2023, he worked as the programme manager for ThincLab Canterbury, an innovation programme at the University of Canterbury that supports growth-oriented companies to scale up and grow.

Daniel currently serves either as the chair or member of several committees including, the Staff Development Committee, Business School Strategic Planning Committee, GIMPA Educational Tour Committee, Leadership and Learning Series (GiLLS) Committee, Management Science Adjunct Lecturers’ Recruitment Committee, GIMPA Business School Research, Publications and External Grants Committee. GIMPA Business School Admission Committee, and Examination Moderation Committee for Management Science Department.

His teaching and research interests include Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Entrepreneurial Marketing, Total Quality Management and Service Management. Daniel has published in international journals including the Journal of Research in Marketing and Entrepreneurship, the Social Responsibility Journal, the International Journal of Export Marketing, the Journal of Business Strategies, the International Journal of Energy Sector Management, and the African Journal of Business and Economic Research.

Daniel’s passion is to impact knowledge based on experience and research outputs in and outside the classroom that can be applied in the world of work.
