Dr Emmanuel Agyapong Wiafe

Emmanuel Agyapong Wiafe is a senior lecturer and the current acting campus manager for the GIMPA Takoradi Satellite Campus.

Emmanuel holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Economics from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana and a Master of Philosophy in Economics from the University of Cape Coast. During the Masters program, he benefited from the AERC Collaborative Master Program where he took electives in Econometrics, Research Methods and Corporate Finance. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Economics at KwaZulu Natal University.

Before joining GIMPA, he worked at West End University College as a lecturer and as an Adjunct for several universities. He has consulted for GIZ.

From 2019 to 2021, he was appointed by the European Union as a Marie Curie Research Fellow at the University of Wolverhampton, Wolverhampton, UK where he worked on Occupational Health and Safety Risk Management on construction projects in collaboration with notable professional bodies in the UK including Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Association for Project Safety (APS), Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM), among others. His research and consultancy works have received funding from The World Bank; European Union; The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation; State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), Switzerland; German Development Cooperation (GIZ), etc.

His research work has been published in reputable international peer-review journals including the International Journal of Production Economics; Production Planning & Control; Journal of Manufacturing Technology Management; International Journal of Managing Projects in Business; Safety Science, among others. He is a member of the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS), USA and the Ghana Institute of Procurement and Supply (GIPS).
