Dr Jemima Antwiwaa Ottou

Jemima Antwiwaa Ottou is a Lecturer of Total Quality Management, Procurement Management and Project Management at Department of Management Science at the GIMPA Business School. She is also the Programme Coordinator for Project Management and Supply Chain Management, Graduate Level, and the AUCC Affiliation Coordinator for GIMPA

She holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Building Technology from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana; Master of Science, with Distinction in Engineering and Management from Coventry University, UK; and PhD in Construction Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana.

Prior to joining GIMPA, she was a practicing quantity surveyor/consultant and contract administrator where she performed duties relating to Pre-Contract and Post Contract activities for major construction projects in both Building and Civil Engineering Works. She worked for Contractors and Consultancy Services in Ghana for both Public and Private Institutions. She managed several donor funded government construction projects such as projects under the District Development Facility and Urban Development Grant as a senior quantity surveyor at Tema Metropolitan Assembly. As a contractor’s quantity surveyor, she worked on landmark projects such as the Construction of a fly over at the Tema end of the Accra-Tema Motorway.

In 2019, she joined GIMPA as a full time lecturer and also designed several training manuals for GIMPA’s Consultancy. She is a member of the GIMPA-TRECK team designing short courses in collaboration with the World Bank. She is a Member of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors, and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building. She has also made contributions to her profession by serving on the editorial board of the Quantity Surveyors Division of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors. Her service to the community at large is outstanding as she is the Executive Director of a national None Governmental Organisation (NGO) called Deprived Community Aid (DECaid) through which she has extended free consultancy services to deprived institutions such as Tema General Hospital to construct several facilities. She also serves as reviewer for journals and peer-reviewed conferences.
