Dr. Joseph Budu

Dr. Joseph Budu is a Senior Lecturer in Information Systems at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration. He is a technology researcher who focuses on developing, communicating, protecting, promoting ideas and concepts into sustainable projects of commercial value and development impact. He was also the Country Manager for Fairwork Ghana which evaluated digital platforms’ working conditions and ranks them based on five principles of fair work. Currently, he serves as the Head of the Department of Information Systems and Innovation at the School of Technology of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (until August 2023). His research experience covers the digital platforms, social agriculture and electronic business at the national, industrial, organisational and community levels. Since joining the GIMPA he has collaborated with other scholars to obtain over GBP 100,000 in research and project funds. His doctorate dissertation on digital platforms and value creation won the University of Ghana’s Vice Chancellor’s Award for the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation in the Humanities, 2019/2020 academic year.
