Mr John Darko

Since John joined the  GIMPA Law Faculty as a full time member in 2014, he has taught Natural Resources Law, Environmental Law, Constitutional Law and Conflict of Laws. He has several years of experience in teaching and legal practice especially in Environmental and Natural Resources law areas. He has taught the Legal environment of business at the GIMPA MBA Class and Contract Management at the GIMPA Business School.

 

John has worked with Mobil Oil Ghana, Global Energy USA, Inc., Houston, TX, and Gyandoh Asmah & Co., Ghana. He is currently a partner in a law firm, Darko, Keli-Delataa & Co., a 10-member law firm based in Airport, Accra.                                                      John is a product of the University of Houston Law Center, Houston, Texas (LL.M) and Ghana School of Law and the University of Ghana.

He is also a proud member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN), Center for Energy, Petroleum & Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) and Ghana Bar Association- Member

John was one time a member of the Governing Council of the University of Education Winneba and the Chartered Institute of Bankers Councils. He currently serves on the boards of Donewell Life Assurance Company and Ghana National Gas Company.

John is a proud recipient of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) and Rocky Mountains Mineral Law Foundation Scholarships.

He has attended several international conferences in oil and gas, including the   Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN)spring conference in Galveston, Texas on Current Events and Future Trends in the World’s Hydrocarbon Hotspots. He also actively participated in the Rocky Mountains Mineral Law Annual Institute’s conference in Calgary- Canada. He took part in Critical English Law Issues for the International Oil and Gas conference in Houston. He was one of the participants AIPN conference on the topic:  Investing in the Energy Sector in Emerging Markets in Washington D.C.
