Mr Lom Nuku Ahlijah

Lom Nuku Ahlijah is a Lawyer by profession and a legal academic. Lom Ahlijah is called to the bar in the Republic of Ghana and in New York State, United States of America.

Lom holds a Master of Laws degree from Harvard Law School, Harvard University in Massachusetts, United States. Lom also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology & Sociology as well as a Bachelor of Laws degree, both from the University of Ghana. Lom has extensive experience in corporate and commercial legal work. Lom also holds a certificate in the “Language of Business” from Harvard Business School.

Lom started teaching at the Faculty of Law in 2017 as an Adjunct Lecturer. Lom currently teaches Commercial Law at the Faculty of Law but has in the past also taught Legal Research and Writing as well as Administrative Law at the GIMPA Faculty of Law.

Prior to joining the academy, Lom served as an external consultant to London Research International and as an International Counsel in the UK Law Firm of Berwin, Leighton & Paisner LLP (now Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP) on the International Lawyers for Africa Program. He also has about a decade of experience in the Ghana power sector serving on several national including the Ghana Nuclear Power Program Organization Lawyers Group and the Ghana Energy Sector Cash Waterfall Committee.

His research and practice interests include all of the aforementioned areas of law, as well as Energy Law and constitutional law. Lom is co-author of Commercial Law in Ghana: Sourcebook.
