Williams Ohemeng is an Associate Professor of Financial and Development Economics at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration
(GIMPA) in Accra, Ghana, where he also serves as Head of Department of the Economics and Hospitality Studies since September 2021. He has worked as a Research Intern at the West African Monetary Institute (WAMI), served previously as a visiting scholar at the University of Ghana Business School, University of Professional Studies, Accra; and presently serves on various University Administration Committees.
Williams has consulted for various institutions; World Bank, Hunger Project, UNDP, CODESRIA, UNU-WIDER and the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF).
He is a network member of the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) Nairobi, Kenya, Africa Econometric Society (AES) and African Cities Research Consortium (ACRC) led by Manchester University.

His research focus is generally in the area of development finance and financial economics with specific interest in informality, inclusive growth, climate change, poverty reduction, inequalities in the developing economies, firm/national level analysis of productivity growth and financial Markets. He has published widely in journals of international repute such as International Journal of Social Economics, World Development Perspectives, North American Journal of Economics and Finance, Poverty and Public Policy, Health Economic Review among others, as well as contributed to book chapters.
