GIMPA Business School Hosts Seminar on AI for Academic Personal Branding
On Thursday, 25th September 2025, the GIMPA Business School successfully hosted a research seminar on the theme “AI for Academic Personal Branding on LinkedIn.” The session drew over 70 participants, reflecting a strong appetite among faculty and staff for practical tools to enhance their visibility and impact in the digital age.
The event formed part of the Business School Research Seminar Series, which continues to provide a platform for knowledge exchange and professional development.
The seminar was chaired by Prof. Francis Atsu, with coordination support from Ms. Grace Abban-Appiah. The Dean of the Business School, Prof. Bernard Obeng-Acquah, was also in attendance and encouraged faculty members to take advantage of such seminars in the future, noting that professional visibility contributes to both individual careers and the institutional reputation of GIMPA.
The speaker, Dr. Joseph Budu, Senior Lecturer at the School of Technology and Social Sciences, and Head of the GIMPA Hub for Teaching and Learning, shared practical strategies on how academics can leverage artificial intelligence to strengthen their LinkedIn presence, build thought leadership, and indirectly market GIMPA to wider audiences. The interactive session included live demonstrations, where participants explored how AI can simplify content creation, sustain consistency, and expand professional reach.
Faculty who attended described the session as timely, practical, and eye-opening, especially in highlighting how AI can reduce the common barriers of time, confidence, and consistency in maintaining an active online presence.
The GIMPA Business School remains committed to hosting research seminars that equip faculty and staff with tools to excel both within and beyond academia.
