The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) has once again demonstrated its commitment to preparing students for the future of work by hosting a seminar on career opportunities in SAP, the world’s leading enterprise software platform.
The event, held at Greenhill, brought together students from across the Institute to engage with industry experts on how SAP certification can open doors to global career pathways.The seminar was organized in collaboration with TGTS Africa, an SAP partner in Ghana and across the continent. Mr. Armstrong Kwakye, CEO of TGTS Africa, led the session by highlighting the growing demand for SAP-certified professionals in Africa’s digital economy. He emphasized that SAP powers the majority of global business transactions and urged students to seize the opportunity to acquire skills that employers worldwide value.
From GIMPA, the initiative was spearheaded by Prof. Amoako Kwarteng of the GIMPA Business School, Dr. Nana Assyne, Senior Lecturer at the School of Technology and Social Sciences, and, who both underscored the importance of bridging classroom learning with industry-ready skills.
The event was graced by Dr. Joseph Budu, Head of the GIMPA Hub for Teaching and Learning, who commended the partnership as a practical step towards equipping students with competitive advantages for the job market. Also present was Miss Delphine Pratt, the 2024 Face of GIMPA, whose participation symbolized the Institute’s drive to involve its student community in initiatives that shape their professional futures.
Speaking after the seminar, students expressed excitement about the opportunity to pursue free SAP training and certification through the partnership, describing it as a gateway to careers in business, technology, and governance. This collaboration forms part of GIMPA’s broader agenda to align academic programmes with industry demands, ensuring that its graduates are not only academically sound but also globally competitive and future-ready.
