The GIMPA Business School has welcomed a four-member delegation from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China as part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening international collaboration and advancing academic exchange.
The visit forms part of GIMPA’s broader strategic agenda to build sustainable global partnerships that enhance teaching, research, and institutional development. By engaging with leading international institutions such as UESTC, the Business School continues to create avenues for knowledge sharing and capacity building for both faculty and students.
The delegation was received by the Deputy Rector of GIMPA, Prof. Ebenezer Adaku, the Secretary of the Institute, Dr. Victoria M. Kunbour, together with Deans, Directors, and Heads of Departments. In their welcome remarks, management emphasized the importance of internationalization in higher education and reaffirmed GIMPA’s commitment to fostering mutually beneficial partnerships.
Discussions between both institutions were constructive and forward-looking, focusing on key areas of mutual interest including collaborative research, innovative teaching approaches, and the expansion of global opportunities for students and staff. Particular attention was given to practical pathways for implementation and long-term sustainability of proposed initiatives.
Key areas of potential collaboration explored during the engagement included staff and student exchange programmes, structured student tours, joint research initiatives and co- supervision of graduate students, as well as the development of a joint Executive MBA (EMBA) programme. In addition, both parties considered a proposed development training initiative dubbed the “Makola Women School,” aimed at empowering women in trade andentrepreneurship through targeted capacity-building programmes.
