The Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Finance and Administration, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, has challenged graduates of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) to harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI) and develop innovative digital solutions that address real-world challenges.
She made the call while delivering remarks at GIMPA’s 26th Graduation Ceremony, where she encouraged graduates to position themselves at the forefront of technological advancement by acquiring the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly digital and competitive global economy.
Addressing the graduating class, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo emphasised that while artificial intelligence is transforming industries and redefining the future of work, human creativity, critical thinking, and innovation remain essential qualities that technology cannot replace.
She urged graduates to move beyond being passive users of digital technologies and instead become creators of solutions that respond to societal needs and contribute to national development. According to her, AI is already reshaping workplaces through the automation of tasks such as data analysis, forecasting, and administrative processes, making digital competence an indispensable asset for today’s professionals.
“Graduates must embrace emerging technologies while continuing to cultivate the creativity and analytical skills that enable them to innovate and solve complex problems,” she noted.
Also speaking at the ceremony, the Rector of GIMPA, Professor Samuel Kwaku Bonsu, congratulated the graduates on the successful completion of their academic journey and encouraged them to uphold the values and reputation of the institution wherever they go.
He urged them to demonstrate integrity, excellence, and professionalism in their personal and professional lives, reminding them that they carry the GIMPA brand and legacy into their respective fields of endeavour.
Professor Bonsu further encouraged the graduates to remain committed to lifelong learning and meaningful service, emphasising the important role they have to play in advancing national development and driving positive change in society.
The 26th Graduation Ceremony celebrated the achievements of graduates from various academic programmes and marked another milestone in GIMPA’s mission to develop ethical, innovative, and globally competitive leaders equipped to address the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
