On Friday, August 11, 2023, GIMPA held its first mega in-person Open House at its Greenhill Campus, after having hosted multiple virtual open houses in the previous months.

The in-person open house was designed to provide prospective students with a unique learning opportunity by giving them a chance to engage with the teaching faculty of GIMPA and also explore the many opportunities the Institute has to offer. Participants who attended the event included parents, the general public, and prospective students. The event was put together by the Corporate Affairs Directorate of the Institute, with a select group of representatives from the Schools and other Units to highlight GIMPA’s exceptional academic programmes, state-of-the-art learning facilities and vibrant campus life. Visitors were also provided with firsthand experience of the GIMPA community through guided tours of the Institute’s surroundings.

The tours also gave participants a glimpse of the resources and facilities available to students of GIMPA, thus, highlighting GIMPA’s commitment to offering nothing but world class education to people. In an interview with the media, the Secretary of the Institute, Dr. Mrs. Victoria Kunbour, who spoke on behalf of GIMPA’s Rector, Prof. Samuel Kwaku Bonsu, and Deputy Rector, Prof. Martin Morgan Tuuli, said the initiative was part of efforts to boost enrollment numbers and also increase public awareness of the Institute.

‘This event is very significant because as a public institution, sometimes you take it for granted that everyone knows about you and what you do, but for us, we want the public to really experience us and know what we do beyond the training. We want a partnership with the public, she stressed.’ Prof. Samuel Agyei-Ampomah, Dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (SOLASS) and the School of Technology (SOT) said the event was very important since it offered the opportunity for the public to ask questions on related programmes of interest.

‘We also have an excellent faculty with excellent industrial experience and a wide network of industry players that support our programmes,’ he added. The Dean of the School of Public Service and Governance, Dr. Patrick Tandoh-Offin, added, “Our programmes are designed to give students the necessary information for the modern working environment. GIMPA is unquestionably the place to be in this era”.

GIMPA continues to be at the forefront of delivering excellence in management and public administration education, and events such as this further solidify its position as the undoubted leading academic institution in Ghana and beyond.
