GIMPA Welcomes Fourth Cohort of ECG Professionals to MPA Programme.

The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) has commenced orientation activities for the fourth cohort of the GIMPA–ECG Master of Public Administration (MPA) Programme.

The orientation brought together newly admitted participants, senior members of the Institute, and representatives from key Directorates to provide an overview of the programme and familiarize students with the academic and administrative support systems available to them.

Addressing participants during the opening session, the External Coordinator of the programme, Dr. Kwaku Ofosu-Asare, described the initiative as a strategic partnership designed to strengthen leadership and management capacity within Ghana’s energy sector.

He noted that the programme combines academic rigor with practical problem-solving approaches, enabling participants to apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges encountered in their workplaces.

Dr. Ofosu-Asare encouraged participants to actively contribute to classroom discussions by sharing experiences and challenges from their various operational environments. According to him, such engagements would enrich learning and support the development of practical, sustainable solutions for the energy industry.

He also underscored the importance of networking and professional collaboration, urging participants to build meaningful relationships throughout their academic journey.

“Your network is your wealth,” he remarked, emphasizing the value of professional connections in career development and organizational growth.

Highlighting the broader objectives of the programme, Dr. Ofosu-Asare stated that the initiative seeks to develop highly skilled professionals capable of enhancing efficiency, leadership, and service delivery within the power sector.

Participants were subsequently taken through presentations by the Academic Affairs Directorate on academic policies, course registration procedures, attendance requirements, assessment processes, and the range of support services available to students.

The GIMPA–ECG MPA Programme forms part of the longstanding partnership between the two institutions aimed at developing the human capital required to drive innovation and improve operational performance within Ghana’s energy sector.

As the fourth cohort embarks on its academic journey, the programme is expected to continue producing professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills, and leadership competencies needed to address emerging industry challenges and contribute meaningfully to national development.
