Dr. Patrick Tandoh-Offin

Dean, School of Public Service and Governance

Dr. Tandoh-Offin is currently a Senior Lecturer and Dean of the School of Public Service and Governance (SPSG) at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, GIMPA. He teaches regular and professional development courses on Program Monitoring, Evaluation and Social Research Techniques Policy Formulation, Decentralization and Local Government Systems, Gender, and Development Planning and Management. He also facilitates on training and capacity building programs at GIMPA in areas of institutional strengthening, result-based program/project management and general capacity development for local and international public, private, and non-profit organizations.
Dr. Tandoh-Offin’s research interests are in the areas of Public (and Nonprofit) Management and Governance, Gender, Social Policy and Development Impact Evaluation, and Community Development, Land Administration and Governance Research.
He also does independent consulting in areas of development management generally and specifically in projects/programs Monitoring, Evaluation and Social Action Research, Local Governance and Community Development. He has consulted for several public, private and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) including the EU, CIDA, DfID, GIZ, STAR-Ghana, CARITAS Ghana, and Lundin Foundation among others, and the Government of Ghana. He has been involved evaluation and social action research assignments on behalf of Agriconsulting Europe (AESA) and Local Government Service (Ghana), Ministry of Special Development Initiatives (MSDI), Christian AID (DFID) and STAR Ghana Foundation Strategic Partnership Grants Calls, Ministry for Local Government and Rural Development (Modernizing Agriculture in Ghana (MAG) Project), CARITAS – Ghana, and the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC). His current research focuses on decentralization, local government administration and citizen participation; effective and responsive development planning and management.
Dr. Tandoh-Offin has served on the advisory boards and governing councils of a number of national and continental institutions such as the Management Development and Productivity Institute (MDPI) SDA College of Education, Koforidua, and Opportunities Industrialization Centers (OIC) all in Ghana, and the African Management Development Institutes Network (AMDIN).
